ProMariner a Brunswick ASG company, the leader in the Marine Battery Charging industry is growing and expanding its Auburn New Hampshire New Product Design Center.
We are looking for an Energetic Mechanical Engineer with an eye for industrial design to join our team, reporting to our Director of New Product Development.
This position will assist with a number of exciting new product development projects annually in addition to creating beautiful functional product that captivate the consumer.

Our design center fosters and enjoyable and creative work environment resulting in consumer marine electronics products merchandised in retail locations within 12 to 18 months.
As a member of the product design team, this Mechanical Design Engineer - Battery Development will execute innovation through New Product Development and existing product improvements.
This individual will be a key contributor to the Power Conversion New Product Development center that will work very closely with our overseas Engineering partners and global sourcing team.
Under his or her expertise, there are approximately 3 to 5 unique projects annually from the conceptual stage into production while ensuring adherence to Pro Mariner's high standards for performance and quality and meeting client and market-driven deadlines.
Responsibilities Include:
Work with the new product development strategy team to guide 3D mechanical design and provide guidance through analysis of plastic & thermal design best practices in concert with our Electrical Engineering team.
Be a part of the adoption of Lithium batteries in the Marine space, while implementing creative solutions to solve the needs of the harsh marine environment.
Work closely with the design center leadership to transform creative outward industrial designs into mechanical product design direction for manufacturability Mechanical packaging design & labeling creation and approval.
Provide knowledge and guidance on plastic part design and structural analysis through computational techniques.
Manage, oversee, and enhance engineering processes, design reviews, and product validation test programs that ensure all Design Center products meet appropriate safety, reliability, and performance standards.
Document design deficiencies and solutions for internal design reviews and communicate those solutions back to our Asian supplier design teams.
Drive collaboration for innovation, competitive cost-effective design work and assess technical complexity and feasibility.
Work with our overseas engineering teams and global Sourcing office on weekly project progress to execute innovation and overcome obstacles and course-correct as needed.
Requirements:
Seeking a self-motivated, resourceful individual with thorough knowledge on ALL aspects of product development.
The candidate must have:
BS Mechanical Engineering with a minor in industrial design.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in low-cost high volume plastic product design-related fields (Toys, Consumer Electronics, Chargers, Inverters, etc.
).
Strong Mechanical & applied Industrial design background with working knowledge of thermal and material helpful.
Good knowledge of volume manufacturing processes including injection molding, blow molding, stamping, and die-casting.
Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills to effectively manage processes, schedules and convey technical direction across all levels of the organization (domestic and Asian).
Strong computational analysis skills using FEA software (Solidworks Simulation) Working knowledge SolidWorks is required.
Comfortable in the lab running tests Limited travel.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
